Originally known as Mine Survey Services, our company quickly diversified to offer a comprehensive range of specialist services tailored to the unique needs of our clients across the state. From humble beginnings, we have grown exponentially, expanding our operations and establishing a reputation for excellence in the industry.
At the heart of Survey Group’s success is our team of dedicated professionals who bring passion, energy, and extensive industry experience to every project. With a staff base of 60 field-experienced surveyors operating from our Osborne Park, Port Hedland, and Newman offices, we are committed to delivering superior solutions that meet and exceed our clients’ expectations.

Ben Simpson – General Manager
Founding Survey Group in 2004, Ben Simpson has been instrumental in shaping the company’s growth and success. With an Advanced Diploma of Engineering & Mine Surveying and over 20 years of surveying experience, Ben’s expertise spans all aspects of surveying, making him a trusted leader in the field. As Chief Pilot and General Manager, Ben’s leadership ensures that Survey Group continues to thrive and innovate, providing clients with a competitive edge in their projects.
Brendan Evans – Managing Director
Joining Survey Group in 2007 as Director, Brendan Evans has been a driving force behind the company’s expansion and development. With an Advanced Diploma of Engineering & Mine Surveying and over 25 years of surveying experience, Brendan specialises in technical high-end engineering construction and mine development projects. His leadership and expertise have been instrumental in successfully managing various large-scale projects for tier one clients, cementing Survey Group’s reputation for excellence.
Greg Cooney – Director
Greg Cooney, who began his journey with Survey Group in 2006 and became Director in 2011, brings over 15 years of experience in the surveying industry to his role. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Mine & Engineering Surveying, Greg plays a key role in coordinating and managing the manning requirements of Survey Group projects. His commitment to ensuring exceptional outcomes for our clients has been integral to our continued success.
